Trapped in NYC

2020 what a year and we are only in July! A mixture of delights and misery. The beginning was great: new year, new job. Quickly the shadow of the virus began to darken the horizon. Parts of New York experienced their own special kind of hell and we’re not through it yet.

March was surreal, empty streets, no cars, no humans, everything was silent - the city that never sleeps, slept. A few times when we went outside I had the image of I am a Legend perhaps it wasn’t as dramatic as the movie, roads were not full of weeds, bridges were still there and no sign of zombies though I believe there was more toilet paper in the movie than in our local supermarket. Now I know what I should stock on for the next pandemic / zombie apocalypse!

These few months at home were the opportunity to brush-up on our survival skills just in case those zombies decide to make an appearance. Follow-us on our journey.

Food

What’s more important than food?

We have mastered the art of baking cheesecakes, madeleines, chocolate cream, waffles, pizzas.

Mind

Detectives in action

We refined our detectives skills by unravelling the string of mysteries of Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective. As quick-witted ex-Londoners we helped the famous detective Sherlock to crack the case. We also trained ourselves in more modern methods of investigation with the excellent board game Detective.

Body

Being in good shape is critical. When zombies appear you need to run fast!

We have trained like soldiers.

Soldiers in training

Soldiers sleeping Like soldiers…

We are now nearly fully trained to survive in a very hostile environment: New York City! Next step of the training coming soon, we are stocking up on nappies!
